Subject: Thank you for your dedication, commitment and enthusiasm from The Murray Marathon Team

The Marathon relies significantly on the hard work and dedication of more than 200 volunteers, who play a vital role in the smooth operation of the event and it would not be possible without people like you.

We, the Murray Marathon team would like to take the opportunity of National Volunteer Week to recognise the contribution our volunteers make and to say thank you for your dedication, commitment and enthusiasm towards the Murray Marathon and YMCA.

In 2012 you were one of more than 200 volunteers who contributed a combined total of over 8,000 hours of labour, which provides an estimated equivalent saving of $125,000+ in wages.

All this is in addition to the $260,000+ the event has raised over the past 4 years, (over $46,000 in 2012) which is put back into the local community via our “Take the Challenge” grants and the $1.5 million dollar economic benefit the event contributes toward supporting the regions environmental, social and economic sustainability.

We are excited by the challenges the event presents every year and with your continued support are enthusiastically looking forward to making the 2013 event another success.

Thank you for your contribution.

Kindest regards,

Murray Marathon Team & YMCA Staff.
